-HIV/AIDS, the plague of the modern world, has killed over 20 million men, women and children and the number of people infected has surged to over 40 million.

"Double orphans"—those who have lost both parents—are on the rise. - Nearly 46 million out-of-school children are not in the workplace either. They are in a state of enforced “idleness”, performing some ‘marginal, irregular activities’.
